Israeli pet travel company Pet Crate has received a major boost in US President Donald Trump’s administration with the appointment of its chief executive to the White House.
Trump announced Monday that his deputy assistant secretary of state for trade and commerce, Jason Greenblatt, will take over as the countrys top envoy for international trade.
Pet Crate will work on a range of issues including pet-related products, agricultural, health and wellness, and technology, according to a statement from the company.
Greenblatt has been a key player in the company’s business, and is also a former chairman of the US Chamber of Commerce and a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, according the company in a statement.
Pet-related product sales will be handled by the USPTO, the US Department of Agriculture, and the U and S Departments of Agriculture.
Pet crate sales will continue, according a Pet Crate statement.
“We look forward to building on this incredible partnership with the Trump Administration,” said Dan T. Miller, chief executive of Pet Crate, in a press release.
“I am thrilled that our mission to make pet travel affordable for families and caregivers is being recognized by the president, who is a true champion for American families.”
Trump’s trade envoy will also work to strengthen the US trade relationship with Israel, which has been strained by Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and impose a tariff on some of its products.
Trump has said that he is working to renegotiate the TPP, but it has been delayed.
The U.K. and other nations have expressed concern that the U:P.
trade agreement would restrict their ability to pursue new trade deals.
The president also announced Monday he is nominating Steven Miller, a former U.N. trade commissioner and former chairman and CEO of the United States Chamber of Industry, to head the Office of International Trade Policy.
Miller is also the former chairman, CEO and president of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which advocates for Israel in U.s. politics and government.
The White House said the new secretary of trade will oversee a range the department undertakes in its effort to make trade more equitable and fair for the American people.
