Posted January 15, 2019 12:17:58 Honolulu residents are being urged to stay away from the beach this weekend.

According to the Honolulu Star Advertiser, the city is experiencing high tides and low water levels.

“We want everyone to be safe.

Stay safe and heed the advice of the Honolulu Fire Department,” said Mayor Chuck Reed in a statement.

The city is advising residents to leave all personal belongings behind.

The Honolulu Police Department is also urging people to stay out of the water.

Hawaii is in the midst of a massive drought, with the state facing its lowest rainfall on record.

The Associated Press reported last month that some counties in the state are facing severe water shortages, as well as a new outbreak of coronavirus.

The outbreak has spread to at least 20 states, and Hawaii is only the sixth state in the country to experience a coronaviruses outbreak.

In the past, Hawaii has seen a surge in cases of coronas in recent weeks.
